That's me (above), running a half marathon on the Gold Coast. I started running in 1996 after losing my wife... I had never run before in my life!

Seeing others run, I had a go and started running around the oval which gave me heaps of pain in my legs and ankles. Within 4 months I ran my first 1/2 marathon non-stop and now I run every marathon available, and even competed in the Masters Games myself...

I also had the privilege of representing Australia in the cross country and the half-marathon at the World Masters Games in Melbourne 2000. (no body beat me . . . but a of a lot of people finished in front of me!)
